In love with Victoria's Secret Bombshell Perfume

I'm completely in love with the Victoria Secret Bombshell Eau  de Parfum. Bringing a flirty, romantic and vibrant feel to the air with just one spray.
I have always been more of a sweet perfume scented person but this one sure did catch my eye, or should I say nose instead! aha! A Fresh mixture of A mixture of Purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony and Vanilla orchid. A fun feel to the scent which really does give it the power to lift your mood. The scent is has a floral linger yet with a hint of sweetness. Subtle and not overpowering, defiantly not one that would give you headache after too many whiffs. This perfume apparently won the FiFi Awards, not bad Victoria Secret.

Perfumes have a so called 'Pyramid' in which the scent is created. The pyramid consists of three layers of scents which come together to make the main fragrance. These are the Top notes, Middle notes and Base notes or some may call it the Dry down notes.

Victoria's Secret Bombshell's pyramid:
Top notes: Tangelo, Pineapple, Strawberry, Purple passion fruit
Middle notes: Jasmine, Red berries, Muguet, Shangri-la peony, Vanilla orchid
Base notes: Musk, Blonde woods, Oakmoss.

Essence, Stay With Me Lip Gloss. Most definitely will be!

Again a fairly new drug store brand that has recently popped up in Watsons. I was quite shocked to see how affordable Essence products were! For a European brand that has to be imported, I was stunned to see that most of the products tend to stay under the RM20 price range!  The Essence 'Stay With Me Gloss' are a range of long-lasting lip glosses (RM9.90 each). I picked up mine in No.6 'Berry Me'.

As you can see its a deep Berry colour, hence its name 'Berry Me'... Hahaha!
The constancy of the gloss is quite sticky in my opinion. It also has a very, hold on, let me repeat myself. A VERY strong sweet scent. That I know may bother quite a handful of people I personally don't mind it as I have always preferred my lip products to be scented. I think it gives them that fresh feel when applied onto the lips.

The gloss as you can see is actually quite pigmented. It leaved a very deep colour on the lips. As how long lasting is this lip product? The product cheats a little when it comes to the long lasting part... The gloss itself is not as long lasting but the berry colour of the gloss does in fact stay on for a long time. Acting more like a lip stain rather than a gloss.
Although I have to say the wand for this Lip gloss did make me raise a eyebrow. A wavy like sponge applicator. There are some advantages and disadvantages for this type of applicator. I thought that by having a wand like this, the gloss was quite tricky to put on and took slightly longer to apply than other lip glosses. It would definitely not be something that I would put in a quick touch up pouch as I would have to sit in front of a bathroom mirror to apply instead of a quick touch up anywhere. On the other hand, this wand does create perfect application when applied properly as the wavy sponge helps get the product all over the lips.

Overall... LOVE IT!! For the price I paid for this Lip gloss, I really did not expect much, but I have to say that I was shocked to see how wonderful this product is!

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencils!

I recently started a craving for Nyx make-up products, A fairly new brand to the shelves of Sehpora stores around Malaysia.  Nyx make-up consists of good quality and beautiful products all for reasonable prices. Could it get any better than this? I know that Nyx make-up has been available in the USA and the UK for quite some time as some of their products have been featured in make-up tutorial videos on Youtube.
The brand wasn't officially available here before Sephora started selling them, but I know that some of the products were being brought in by individuals to be sold on small online boutiques.

I purchased two of the Jumbo Eye Pencils, 'Gold' and 'Strawberry Milk'. They have a many different colours in their collection of jumbo eye pencils but sadly many of them were sold out at both of the Sephora stores I visited (KLCC and outside Pavillion). The most raved colour would have to be 'Milk' which is a matte white shade.

Right swatch: Gold, Left swatch: Strawberry Milk

Overall, I am very pleased with them, they do blend quite well with regular eye-shadows which makes them fairly easy to apply. They also look fabulous on their own. The colours are beautiful! I was happy find out  that 'strawberry milk' also can be used as a highlighter and when applied to the face, gives you a beautiful subtle glow.
The only downsides to these products would be the fact that I was quite disappointed to see that they have to be sharpened. Unlike other eye-shadow sticks, they don't have the 'roll-up' feature. Although its not a big issue, I really feel that Nyx should come up with roll-up jumbo eye pencils as sharpening these pencils can damage the actual product. If sharpening the pencil is a big problem for you, I have found tutorials on Youtube showing how to depot the product out if the tube and into a container to be used as a cream eye-shadow instead.

They retail for RM19 each.
